In-House Meeting
with
Dr. Geoffrey Shaw, Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan

The Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) hosted an In-House Meeting on 16 July, 2019, with H.E. Dr. Geoffrey Shaw, Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan. He was accompanied by Ms. Emma Leahey, First Secretary (Political) and Ms. Michelle Sullivan, First Secretary (Political). The guests were given an introduction of the Institute’s workings.
Director General ISSI, Ambassador Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry and Chairman BOG ISSI, Ambassador Khalid Mahmood welcomed the guests. During the meeting, various aspects of bilateral relations between Pakistan and Australia were discussed, including economic and political cooperation between both the countries. Dr. Shaw said that it was imperative to engage with the academic community to get a better understanding of the workings of a country’s foreign policy. He also described the workings of the Australian High Commission.
After the briefing, the guests were given a tour of the ISSI’s premises.
