LIBRARY:

Institute library has an outstanding collection of more than 14,000 books covering vast areas, topics and interest including international relations, security issues, politics, culture, economics, strategy, wars, current history, and defence. The library in addition holds regular subscription to over 70 national and international journals. Moreover, the institute also has active subscription to online/electronic versions of international journals. The library also has an updated collection of national and international reports and surveys. It holds a vast collection of biographies, historical papers and encyclopaedias. Library also keeps audio records of the seminars / conferences and public talks which take place in the institute.



Documentation Section:

The library carries out regular documentation of all the journals / magazines / periodicals at hand. To broaden the standard and efficiency of research a record of index cards is kept in the library. The library also keeps a vertical file documentation section containing clippings, handout, pamphlets, and other text materials of old and new issues, treaties and topics.



Online / Electronic International Resources:

The Institute’s also subscribes to a number of online/ electronic database resources to improve its research.

Newspaper:

The Library regularly receives all Pakistani daily broadsheets and selected international newspapers. They are available in the library to the researchers and scholars of the institute and also to outsiders.



Press Cuttings:

The Library has a unique collection of press cuttings containing newspaper articles from 1980 onwards. The cuttings are classified by subject area, current issues and important events. They are kept as a record and are extensively used in research work by the scholars and members of the institute. These resources are also available to external users on request.



New Books:

The library on a regular basis updates its book collection with new arrivals. New books are put on display and are available to the researchers and scholars of the institute.



Outsider Access to Library:

Institute’s library is open for outside researchers, scholars or university students. However, the library does not issue membership as well as books / magazines / journals or any other material from the library to outsiders. Library also provides photocopy service of books, journals, magazine, etc to outsiders at a very minimum rate.



Library hours:

The Library is open to general public from Monday - Friday 8:30 to 3:30 pm.
